Vintage Fashion Scene in Singapore

Vintage gems can be hard to find for anyone. When you don't know where to look, especially in a place like Singapore, it can seem that there isn't much to see vintage wise. Off the beaten track though, you can find treasure troves of rare designer items, nostalgic 60s dresses and one of a kind accessories. Dig through our selection of second hand stores in the little red dot, and see if you can spot something suitable for your personal style.

Moodswings Vintage

With a good selection of everyday wear for men and women, Moodswings Vintage is one of our personal favourites. The menswear is easily suitable for women as well, and there are some lovely skirts, colourful silk blouses and avant garde dresses. Located along Haji Lane, it is easy to pop into while having dinner in the area. The pieces are mostly ones that are easy to add into a contemporary wardrobe without looking too retro. Founded in 2014, Moodswings is a newcomer in the scene, but stocks a good range of goods for someone wishing to dabble in vintage fashion.

Déjà Vu Vintage

This store has a focus on a few different aspects of secondhand; they stock classic American and European vintage pieces for an affordable price, designer couture from hallmark brands like Dior and Chanel as well as clothing from more contemporary designers such as Helmut Lang and Etro. With something for everyone, they cater to a wide clientele. However, their focus and forte is the couture dresses and evening gowns, which they have the biggest selection of. Having been around for 12 years, they land as one of the most knowledgeable vintage stockists in Singapore, so you can trust them to know plenty about the clothing they carry.

Dustbunny Vintage

This store is away from shopping streets and hangout spots, so you have to make a deliberate effort to visit. We do have to say it is well worth the trip; with one of the best collections of Asian vintage, the shop is filled to the brim with intriguing garments along with some designer bags. The founder Pia has spent over 13 years rummaging through second hand finds, so you can trust to find the best of unique vintage garments. Dustbunny Vintage take pride in stocking the finest quality pieces from around the world, from the 40s onwards.

Darkhorse Vintage

Only having an online shop with the occasional pop up shops here and there, Darkhorse Vintage has still marked its spot in the vintage fashion scene in Singapore. With a wide range of clothes and accessories, the dresses from the 60s and 70s steal the show. Each garment is carefully inspected and mended, cleaned and restored accordingly, so that customers can appreciate their former glory.

Craft Assembly

Sitting among the independent boutiques of Haji Lane, Craft Assembly stands out and invites you in with its charming window display. Stocking locally made knick knacks, Craft Assembly has a small selection of remade, colourful vintage dresses. If you are looking for a unique look and desire that handmade aesthetic, this is the place for you. Very wearable for today’s discerning fashion conscious individual, the dresses are perfect for daytime strolls around the city.
